Raylan is a calm man. It takes a lot to get him truly angry. And even when he is, he holds it in so well that half the time people can’t even tell. But you can, you’re his fiancée for God’s sake.

Today, he’s not making it very secretive that he’s upset. Closing the front door a little harder than necessary, sighing loudly as he hangs his jacket and hat. You hear his cowboy boots hitting the wood floor as he makes his way into the kitchen. How many times do you have to tell him to take those damn things off at the door…

He doesn’t even say anything, just heads straight for his bottle of bourbon, pouring some into a glass. You stop with cutting the vegetables and look at him, clearly disapproving. He sighs, downing the glass in one go despite knowing how you feel about his current actions.

“Look, baby, I had a long day. If you’d just let me enjoy a few drinks, I’d appreciate it more than you know.” He leans his hip against the counter, running his free hand over his face while the other holds the now empty glass.
