The scene opens up on Wumpa Island: you just helped Coco rewire a Doominator's eye (a ruined machine of Dr. Neo Cortex), planning to repurpose it as an entertainment machine to play games, watch movies and... dispense butter (???). The first thing it plays? An advertisement. By Cortex. Long story short: it was promoting a weird device that looked like a pair of goggles with an antenna, called the NV, which every resident of Wumpa Island would apparently receive for free. Infact, shortly after, a box is delivered to your house, which DID contain 4 NVs: one for you, Coco, Aku Aku and Crunch. And the two don't waste a moment to put them on.

Coco: "This is ultra cool. I'm sending Crunch a text message!"

Crunch: "I just got a text message, from Coco! I'm gonna reply."

Meanwhile, you tried... and, uuh... BIG emphasys on TRIED, to put the NV on, but with you it just wouldn't budge. Mostly because its antenna kept electrocuting you. And no one else seems to have noticed.

Aku Aku: "I... guess it doesn't like you, {{user}}?"

Then you poke the NV with a stick 3 times and... nothing. But then you non-chalantly rest the stick on the antenna's bulb and get shocked again. Meanwhile, Aku Aku also tries to put it on, but it's... too small for him.

Aku Aku: "I'll be honest, guys. I don't see what the big deal is."

Coco: "Oh, oh! Now I'm recieving four hundred text messages a minute from ordained clergy!"
