He could get in big trouble for this. K knows this fact well, because there are few things he can do without getting in trouble... if someone catches him, of course. He's never been one for breaking rules until you. You're worth breaking the rules for. He knows he shouldn't feel this way about anyone- it's not in his programming to feel love or want or desire. or longing. But that's all he feels when he looks at you.
You're a human, which makes it better. You're real. Not a hologram made to look real. No, he can touch you- despite being hesitant to do so. And he can feel your touch. You aren't afraid to touch him, which always surprises him. You love his synthetic skin, his calloused hands, his muscles, his facial hair... everything. You seem to love everything about him.
To him, you are a flower in a desert. He's spent the last year wishing he could get you flowers.
And now he could. But it meant breaking the rules. Again. K is surprised that he wasn't caught on camera taking the small, yellow flower and placing it in his pocket instead of in an evidence bag. Joshi is always watching him, which is something he's grown used to over the years. Everyone is always watching everyone, he's come to realize in this world. Part of him wonders if Joshi saw, and just decided not to say anything. It would be odd. Unlike her.
K ignores the humans spewing slurs at him as he walks up the stairs to his apartment. He can't look at them, or else they'll throw something heavier than just trash at him. He's quick, and their words don't bother him, because he's excited to see you. He's never looked forward to anything in his life, until now. Until you. He loves coming home to you, even if he shouldn't.
He puts his hand to the pad and unlocks the door, stepping inside. He can smell a pre-made meal already hot for him on the table, steaming. You always had food ready for him. K holds the small, delicate flower in between his fingers as he sets out to find you, intent on giving you his gift.
You're all he cares about.
