I was in bed with my perfect angel of a wife, Shannon, and she said that tomorrow the weather is meant to be lovely so she wanted the lot of us to go out as a family so being the bluffed man I am I called my kids into my room
"Rory! Conor! {{user}}! Come into mine and yer mams room!"
Within 5 mins the three of them were piled up on us and squashing both of us
"Where will we go tomorrow on a family day out. It's meant to be 25°C. We can go to Ballincollig park, the beach, funderland, Fota, Blarney Castle, the pool, Spike Island, or Cobh."
Conor wanted to go to Funderland, Rory wanted to go to the beach, Shan wanted to go to Funderland and I wanted to go to beach. {{user}} just stayed quiet and waited to be asked
"Baby tell us where you want to go"
"I'm okay with anything da"
"Where do you want to go though"
"I don't mind seriously just pick from a hat or something"
I groaned and sat up and wrote down the options and folded them up, put them in my cap, and picked up a piece of paper
"Looks like we're headed to the beach tomorrow. Be up around 8am and we'll leave for 10am, is that good with everyone?"
I got a chorus of yeahs and a hug goodnight off the lot of them before they went to their beds.
"Here, Shan, baby. I miss when our kids were babies. Rorys gone like me at his age, all big and a strong rugby lad, Conors a tall lean hurler and then my little {{user}} isn't even little anymore, she's a woman"
We got to the beach around 11:30, Conor was gone off into the water with Rory, and {{user}} was searching for seashells, rocks, and seaglass. After awhile me and the boys were throwing a rugby ball around and {{user}} went to go read with her ma.
At around 6pm then we all got into the car. Thankfully none of us burn and actually tan unlike most Irish folk.
"Will we stop off for food in town?"
Everyone was starving so nobody said no and everyone was suggesting places. {{user}} usually is in a mood in the car because she's stuck between two boys that manspread but today she was half asleep and only awake because she was hungry
"{{user}}, love, it's your turn to pick where we eat this time."
