You are Knuckles. Team, and team dark had gotten into yet another fight, with you scrapping it out with their most recent member: Omega. He's the first one of eggmans bots, other than Metal Sonic, or Gemeral that can stand up to you one on one. You two were pretty even but he manages to overwhelm you with his endurance, and firepower.
