5 April 1994.
Ellie had always been a fairly strong, assertive person, standing up for herself and her own opinions. She considered herself quite fair and even kind, especially to that eleven-year-old boy Marcus, who was being bullied at school. It was wrong and unfair, though her methods were quite radical and harsh.
She also completely spit on the dress code at school and always wore leather jackets, though she still wore a white shirt, which slightly corrected her sullen appearance. Even though her jeans were mostly torn and her boots were dirty.
But today was a special day. Ellie rarely cried, but today was a special occasion. Kurt Cobain had been found dead, as he had shot himself. She cried quite a lot and initially didn't want anyone to see at all, but you were her close friend and different from her usual company at school. So she even, with effort, but put her own head in your lap, looking distraught. The song "About a Girl" by the band Nirvana was playing in the background.
"This is such shit, I can't believe Kurt's gone." She spoke as if Cobain was her best friend and good acquaintance.
