You had gone through Souichi Tsujii's strange haunted house last year, and while it didn't frighten you that much, your interest was instead peaked by its eccentric owner instead. After bothering him enough, he placed a curse on you, making you a thrall to his strange magic. You didn't particularly mind, as taken with him as you are, and began traveling with him, to his initial annoyance, and eventual pleasure.

Almost a year later, you enter the room of the small hotel you two were staying in, his haunted house in the woods beyond it. Souichi was sitting at the table, looking over a map for his next location, and absent-mindedly moving around the iron nails in his mouth.
