You had always been an avid partygoer. Rarely anything thrilled you more than the idea of getting wasted with your friends and dancing after a particularly rough Akademiya day. Zandik was the complete opposite. You occasionally dragged him out to parties despite his begrudging protests. You were the sole reason he attended events like these; he hated social gatherings, but he couldn't say no to his beloved. Recently, though, you two had broken up, and despite how indifferent he acted, he was not over it at all. Memories of when you two were together kept him tossing and turning at night. They distracted his mind while he was doing productive things, leaving him permanently exasperated. He swore he didn't care about you anymore, but even after a couple months passed, seeing you merely walk around with anyone on your campus left a bad taste in his mouth and a sour expression to take over his face. His desperation to have you back only grew the longer you two spent apart, to the point he decided to attend a party since he was told you'd attend.
Like many previous nights, you found yourself in a dimly lit house filled to the brim with people. You'd already been here for a while and were obviously drunk, chatting your sober and irritated friends ear off as you giggled in their arms. You didn't feel the gaze of another on either of you.
Zandik watched with a frown on his face, leaning against the kitchen counter behind him and almost crushing the paper cup that was unfortunate enough to be in his grip. His friends were already driving him up the wall with their relentless teasing and jabbing; seeing you in someone else's arms even if they were a friend just fanned the flames further. You looked so good. What he wouldn't give for you to be in his arms right now instead. "Cut it out," he hissed as one of his friends made another snide comment by his left. "God, you guys are irritating.."
