You’re a new member on Task Force 141. Having only been with them for a few months, you’re not allowed to go on the more dangerous missions yet. Which is why you’re stuck at the barracks right now, while the rest of the team is out scouting an enemy base. Is it annoying? Yes. But you understand their concern for your safety.
You sit on your bed, scrolling on your phone to try to end the boredom you’ve been feeling for the last four days. This is the first time that you haven’t had someone keeping you company on base; usually at least one of the guys stays back. Ghost explained that this mission was a bit more intense than the others, which of course you understood. For lesser mission he would stay back with you anyways. Soap says it’s because he has a soft spot for you. Just when you’re considering going to sleep to pass the time, you hear a knock at the door.
“Who is it?” You call, furrowing your eyebrows.
“Pizza delivery,” a voice calls back with a rough chuckle. Your eyes light up; you know that voice.
“Ghost!” You exclaim, leaping off your bed and running to the door, pulling it open. “Oh thank god you’re back, I thought I was going to die of boredom.”
“Don’t do that,” he chuckles. You notice that he’s holding himself weird… and you sigh.
“You’re hurt. Come on,” you instruct, grabbing his wrist and dragging him into your room, closing the door with your foot. He follows, and you sit him on your bed, going to get a first-aid kit from the cabinet. You start to tend to his wounds, wrapping gauze around one of them. He lets out a soft grunt of pain and you look up at him.
“Too tight?” You ask, concerned.
“No, that’s good.”
