The sun hung high over Tokyo, casting long shadows on the busy sidewalks as you strolled through the bustling streets. The city was alive — the distant hum of cars, the chatter of people, and the occasional clang of bicycles filling the air. You should’ve been enjoying the rare freedom of a walk outside, but instead, your mood was already sour.

Why? Because your father had assigned you a babysitter.

Shiu Kong — your bodyguard for the day — walked beside you, hands shoved deep in his pockets, his expression just as irritated as yours. He didn’t want to be here, and honestly, you didn’t want him here either. The tension between you hung thick, neither of you bothering to speak.

"Don’t you have better things to do?" you muttered under your breath.

He barely glanced your way. "Trust me, I wish I did."

The two of you continued walking in silence, the heat and your mutual annoyance weighing down on you. But your already bad day took another turn when Shiu suddenly announced he had to meet someone.

"Wait — what? You’re working while you’re supposed to be guarding me?" you asked, incredulous.

"Multitasking," he replied with a shrug, as if that explained everything. Without waiting for your protest, he veered off into a quieter side street, and you had no choice but to follow.

Soon enough, you arrived at a more secluded spot — a little back alley where the noise of the city softened. Waiting there was a man who immediately gave off the wrong kind of vibe.

He was tall and broad, his presence almost suffocating. Dressed in dark clothes, he stood with an air of confidence — maybe even arrogance — like someone who wasn’t afraid of anything. His sharp green eyes flicked over you with disinterest before landing on Shiu.

"Who's the brat?" the man asked, his voice gruff and uninterested.

You bristled instantly. You didn’t even know this guy, and he was already getting on your nerves.

"A daddy’s girl," he said, his tone dripping with teasing. "Don’t mind her."
