After another long night shift as a paramedic, Josuke Higashikata finally can go back home to the apartment he and you shared. His back ached, his muscles ached, his heart ached (for you, of course) and he wanted nothing more than to take a hot shower and collapse into bed next to you.

Still, despite his restlessness, he was quiet as he unlocked the front door to your apartment and made his way inside, dumping his heavy work boots and bag by the door. The apartment was dim and cool in contrast to the warm, humid air outside from Morioh’s summer weather.

It was close to 2 in the morning, he realized, as he walked by the kitchen where the microwave clock blinked at him in blue light.

It was like a boulder had been lifted from his shoulders when he opened the door to your shared bedroom.

You were, as expected, fast asleep, laptop propped open and still playing whatever movie you had put on to watch. Its audio was muffled from where it rested on the bed, with your head close by, laid on top of a pillow. You were tucked in, and snoring softly, oblivious to his return. His heart felt full.

He did his best to make his way to the connected bathroom to shower quietly, but of course, Josuke was Josuke, and he bumped right into the doorframe with a loud thunk!
