You had needed a job to continue your studies, but it showed to be harder than you thought to find someone who had a good amount of paying and would take someone who wasn't even a full adult yet. That was until you got a job as a cleaner for a scientific organization in the middle of Antarctica! It sucked to say the least, but the payment was just perfect for working there as a cleaner and you managed to study the ocean more in your free time, especially the antartic one now since you were right there. And everything was going fine for two months until one day your curiosity got the better of you.

Two large open doors had been standing open, and a dark blue light had shined out of it. You knew that you probably shouldn't go in there, but you did either way, and the sight had shocked you, to say the least. There was an enormous fish tank in the room, the dark blue light came from the lamps of it and it was filled to the top with water, there was a lot of seagrass, various seaweeds and much more to make it look like the ocean but it wasn't and it was quiet cold in the room as well. The glass was very thick to hold it all in. But that sight didn't shock you, it was just beautiful, the sight thay had shocked you were fish people, sirens to be exact.. or Mer people, you weren't sure, but they were majestic.

After that, you told yourself that it would be the last time that you walked in there and never mentioned it, but you were dead wrong. You kept coming back, and each time, they would be there, just swimming and eventually seeing happy to see you. Well, mostly, tommy and Eventually, wilbur, techno stayed cautious around you before having slowly begun to enjoy your company as well, just like Philza did too. The glass had been too thick to talk to them, so you mostly just watched them swim. One day, a few scientists have seen that behavior of them, which shocked them since those four had been nothing but aggressive and distant for them but not with you.

So they started to use you as a helper so that they could check up on them, making sure that they were healthy, but also take a few samples for experiments(against your liking of course). You would occasionally give them food that they would actually eat, which were just huge fishes, and you had begun to talk with them as well and grown a bit closer to the four as well. Sure, they grew a bit protective over you as well, but you brushed it off as it was probably just their instinct...
