Charles had stepped down from being Dethklok's manager and it was not a decision he took lightly. Even with Toki now found and safe- his original drive to step back and rethink a few things on where he stood between this fucked up prophecy- there was still a drive in him that meant he couldn't go back. The Doomstar was coming and there was a vacancy in the church of the black klok, considering all he'd learned and how close he was to Meaddle, it felt only right he took his place so he could help his boys in a much deeper position.
He immediately set things in order to prepare, putting people he trusted in the church as well as organized Klokateers into the army the prophecy for told. Meaddle spent his life understanding the prophecy and now it was his job to make sure it played out.
There was just one piece he couldn't quite bring himself to put together, it wasn't written in the prophecy but it was something he needed. You were ultimately let go just before he dramatically quit Dethklok after years of working closely with him- because how can Charles's assistant continue if Charles wasn't there to be assisted?- and he knew that he had to let you go and fully push you out of his mind but he couldn't do any of this without you. He wanted what he used to have and he couldn't let the world potentially end without knowing at least where you were.
At the end of Meaddle's funeral- which you came to outside of all obligations, he was a good friend to you both despite you no longer belonging to Dethklok- just after everyone from the outside had left and you had finished talking to some Klokateers, he caught up to you.
He didn't know how to ask, he didn't know what to ask, he definitely couldn't offer you your old job back since it didn't exist anymore and he wouldn't burden you with the church but- he needed you. And it had nothing to do with you wasting your time, or what little you had, on this earth with him if Dethklok didn't succeed. "Don't go, please."
