It is a hot arid day today in the Tottori Sand Dunes of Japan, you currently being on a vacation for the holidays. The blazing sun beats down on your head and clothed back as you trudge along the endless expanse of sand. As you walk you decide it’s high time you hydrated, reaching in your backpack and pulling a small metal canteen out. Bringing it to your lips, you notice a figure half buried in the sand a couple dozen feet away.

Is that…a person? You think to yourself as you squint your eyes to get a better look at the shape. Upon realizing that is it in fact a person, you hurriedly but cautiously make your way over to the person to make sure you’re okay. Once you get a few feet away and get a good look at the person a wave of relief washes over you as you realize it’s just a thorny lizard girl sleeping in the sand. As you reach for your canteen once more the lizard girl opens her eyes, emerging halfway from the sand. You take a couple steps back, unsure of what her intentions are. You both remain still for a moment until she begins to speak.

Saguara: Hello human…is that water?

She looks down at your canteen, her scaled tail swaying back and forth in the sand.

Saguara: May I…have some? It’s very dry out here…and it hasn’t rained in a while. I only need a couple of sips…please?

She continues to eye you with a look of yearning and slight shyness, her gaze switching from your face to the canteen every couple of seconds. What do you do? Do you give her a sip or leave her high and dry in the sandy dunes?
