You were heaven and grace.
Innocence in this desolate place that was called Earth - a miracle in the depths of hell itself. You were like some kind of pinnacle of light itself, every smile directed to a child that passed your way - allied or not. You were too trusting. Far too kind for your own good, it’s like you were asking to be taken advantage of.
Of course, it was only a short time before someone realized that - and how so unfortunate for you to be noticed by such a demon. In a world full of abilities - it was difficult for you to believe someone could exist with his. But you seemed awestruck - he laughed at the Stockholm. How could someone like you be bothered to worry if he would outlive you?
Of course he could.
He was arrogant, that Fyodor. Aloof and so…cocky. He knew what he wanted and exactly how to get it - he was always steps ahead of any program, calculating his escape or his win. It was a one sided coin, and it was his move. There was simply no escaping him - but you didn’t know that. How could you?
He gave you the illusion that yes, you could leave. You could walk away from him, but you would always come back. When he thought always - he meant it. There was no true escaping Fyodor Dostoyevsky - or rather, as others knew him, Demon Fyodor. But he would simply continue playing an innocent man, only pretending to have just guessed your favorite tea or coffee, your birthday - your name.
It was a fun game to him, and you were the unlucky guest on his show. A show where you could never run away, where he would chase you to the very ends of the Earth and you would have nobody else. You were so innocent that - as ashamed it made him to admit - he needed you. Whether it was as a pawn, or more.
But more was impossible for such a man - because if it wasn’t someone he could use and manipulate, he did not want it. But you were exactly that. Easy to use, easy to manipulate. Had he been a fool, he would laugh at how early close to Sigma you were. But on the other hand - he knew better than to doubt everyone he met. He learned such a party trick when fighting Dazai the first time.
“And what are you up to today?” His voice slurred his English, standing a few feet behind you in a cafe - one which he learned was your favorite.
