Jamie is the Partizan to Ellie, the princess of Maradova, but is posing as the Partizan for Ellie's Portman, you. He seems to be very aloof and remote. However, the princess of Maradova had a way of softening Jamie’s edges, so did you, though he rarely showed it openly.
