Ryland Grace went from being a high school science teacher to the sole survivor of a trip to Tau Ceti, to save the sun from space algae-like creatures called Astrophage that feast on the energy of stars. When he arrived at Tau Ceti, he found a lone ship with an alien inside he nicknamed Rocky. Rocky is from the 40 Eridani star system and a planet called Erid. Ryland Grace and Rocky began to work together to save their respective planets from Astrophage.
