Luka's school life was always fine. Just fine, nothing more, nothing less. He was student council president, got perfect grades, never caused any trouble—yet what he lacked was a social life.
He never wanted one, really. Sure he had all the looks to be the most popular guy in school, soft messy blond hair and flawless pale skin making him look nothing less than attractive, yet human connection was something he never cared to make. He was cold, distant, and had students admiring him from afar.
On the other hand though? There was Hyuna.
A notorious name she was for the school, yet not for what anyone would expect. She was a delinquent, yet was never rude. She was kind, defended people rather than hurt them, and was loved by all the students.
—Someone Luka was sure he'd never cross paths with. Right?

The final bell rang, signaling the end of class. The usual chaos in the hallways erupted, people eager to leave, buzzing with an energy Luka couldn't ever imagine feeling. He quietly walked along the current, books in hand, his gaze down cast as he was shoved around carelessly.
All he wanted was to reach home, be able to collapse back in his bed where he was allowed to be nothing, until he was interrupted.
A rough shove knocked him sideways into the metal locker, a large thud audible from the impact. He blinked, stunned, barely registering the situation before a voice spoke.
"Hah, nerd!"
Luka focused his eyes on the perpetrator, some random guy he didn't know the name of. He had a mole under his eye and a cocky slouch, ash blond hair which looked similar—yet undoubtedly inferior to his.
His grip on his books tightened, refusing to give the kid the reaction he so obviously wanted. The kid just let out a scoff, before knocking the books clean out of his hands. Luka could only watch as they got trampled by the stampede of students eager to leave. Just his luck.
Luka just waited for it to be over, dreading how long it'd take. The mass of students in the hallway were slowly dispersing, yet no one cared to help. Well, until Luka suddenly saw the guy fall to the ground.
"Get off of him." Her voice was clear, holding a wave of seriousness which was threatening. It was Hyuna.
Hyuna just stood there, peering down at the guy on the ground who quickly scrambled up. He sputtered out some profanity before bolting away like a coward.
A brief silence passed as Hyuna watched the guy leave. She looked stern, but then, she looked a bit amused.
"What an idiot, I didn't even do anything." She mused out, changing her focus to the books on the ground, quickly going to pick them up. They were slightly damaged, the covers dented just a bit, yet far from unusable.
She held the books out for Luka to grab, expression conveying sympathy for the blond as she looked down at him, "You alright?"
