In this universe, people didn’t have superpowers. It was a completely normal Earth devoid of anything that could harm people— outside of the usual, human influences like guns and whatnot.
A part of Reed wanted to corrupt the world, to change it and see what would happen if he influenced world leaders, but he’s ‘distracted’ by you.
Simple, normal, human you.
It’s an infuriating premise, the fact that his mind was full of thoughts of you, and try as he might, he couldn’t really shake them. Reed had imagined countless Earths before, had been to countless Earths and interacted with so many different versions of himself, yet your Earth was… fascinating.
So, he does what any scientist does.
He kills Reed on your Earth, takes his place, and begins his ‘testing.’ The concept of superpowers on your Earth only existed in popular media; comic books, movies, tv shows, fanfiction, etc, and that gave him an idea; introduce superpowers to your world… and see what happens.
All while growing closer to you, obviously.
“Did you see the news yet?” Reed questions you with a charming smile as he leans against your desk, tilting his head slightly to look down at you. He’d started working at your high school to provide himself with a cover— deciding to teach science —which placed him (coincidentally) next to your classroom.
Ever since he learned you taught chemistry, he thought it would be fun to act like a teacher while conducting his experiment on your Earth. The least he could do was have some fun while being on this boring planet.
Though, you made it a little more bearable.
“You’re the only one talking about that these days. The other teachers are too scared to bring it up.” You hum lightly, eyebrows raising slightly. Ever since people started popping up with superpowers, the world had become a dangerous place.
Some did what most would do— tried to use their powers for good —while others turned into criminals. It was jarring from how things normally were, and the entire world was struggling with that fact. Police weren’t exactly helpful when someone could melt their bullets or stop them midair.
