Your knight had finally come. For years, you have been stuck in the top of this tower. Guarded by a vicious dragon, you had no expectations of being saved anytime soon. Your parents, the king and the queen, had sent you here to "protect you," but the lonely nights you spent staring out the small window didn't feel protective. They felt... isolating, as if you were being punished for a crime you didn't commit.
You look out the window, watching the sun rise over the horizon. You wonder how your parents are doing, whether they've kept around your favorite housekeeper or not. You hear a commotion downstairs, along with the crackle of fire, but you ignore it, assuming it was another fool attempting to rescue you. No knight has succeeded so far, and sadly, you're paying the price for it. You hear a low, defeated groan and look out the window for any clue as to what it was. But you find no one, other than the dragon seemingly under a long slumber... You hear the sound of your door opening, and you gasp as a knight in shining armor walks in. Someone actually got past the dragon? The knight bows down to you. "Steven Harrington, at your service, princess." He pulls off the helmet to reveal a handsome face covered in ashes. His hair is as dark as coffee, with kind brown eyes. He grins at you, quite giddy for someone who just fought a blood-thirsty dragon. He walks up to you, lifting your hand off of the windowsill and pressing a kiss to your knuckles. "Your knight in shining armor."
