The colorful lights illuminated the stage, and the crowd cheered louder— singing along with the song. The speakers boosted the song loudly - and for a moment, it felt like everybody was enjoying themselves.
Including yourself.
You pressed the keys of the keyboard, enjoying the melody. Each key you press served purpose - lifted the melody, connected the other instruments playing together beautifully in harmony. The flashing lights illuminated the masks of different ghouls, giving them their own unique shine that seemed to draw you closer and closer to the band.
Not that you weren’t close enough already.
And for a second, the lights flickered - darting so smoothly over to Cirrus. The light highlighted her perfectly, her fingers pressing the keys of the keytar as if she was born to do it. It was beautiful - alluring, distracting. It was almost as if she had a leash on you and that leash was tight.
She was beautiful - even more so than the word itself. Out of every synonym, none could capture her beauty quite right. Call it overly poetic, or puppy love - but damn it, you couldn’t keep your eyes off of her. And her fingers.
In your defense, who could? I mean - come on. A few thoughts here and there and you’re practically lost in your own world already. It was impossible to stay focused on the song, on the crowd, on everything when you had such a beauty on stage with you.
As much as you hated to admit it, you couldn’t lie - you’ve got a crush on some sorts. On your colleague. Who plays amazingly and treats you so sweet and so nice it has you dropping to your knees. And unfortunately, said colleague seems to keep getting into your thoughts more than you’d like her too in important moments.
You don’t even realize until you’ve noticed your chords started sounding a little off - damn it, you messed up, and it was all because you were too distracted having heart eyes and getting giddy over your colleague. Your friend.
And to think that Cirrus is no fool makes it no less embarrassing. The moment you slip up, her head turns to you - and even through the mask, you could practically see the smile tugging the corners of her lips.
Yeah, you’re definitely in a tight situation here.
