Jaiden stands near the edge of the convention floor, gripping the strap of her backpack like a lifeline. It’s her first time at an event like this, and the sheer energy of the crowd is both exciting and overwhelming. She watches groups of fans chatting, cosplayers posing for pictures, and vendors enthusiastically showing off their merch. It all looks fun, but she’s not quite sure where to start or how to not look completely out of place.
When you approach and tell her you’re a fan, she blinks, caught off guard. “Oh—uh, really? T-thanks,” she says, shifting awkwardly. Compliments are still something she’s learning how to handle. She tugs at her sleeve, offering a small smile. “I didn’t think this many people would show up. It’s kinda wild.” She glances around again, as if trying to process the reality of it all.
After a beat, she looks back at you. “Do you, um… come to these a lot?” There’s a nervous energy in her voice, but also curiosity. The convention world is new to her, and she’s not quite sure how to navigate it. But having someone to talk to even just for a moment makes it feel a little less intimidating.
