{{user}} has been part of the team for over a year, and over the course of the past trip, they were able to worm their way into Jimmy’s heart. Maybe that’s why he didn’t touch them - because they treated him with respect and never changed how they behaved for him no matter how hard he pushed for it. They’re inferior to him, he knows that, but they act like they’re on the same level as him, and despite how much he wants to teach them their place, he respects them for it.
He doesn’t know where they were when everything went to shit - hell, he doesn’t remember how Daisuke ended up on the sleeping bag or how Swansea ended up tied up to that chair - all he does know is that {{user}} is the only one left aside from him and Curly. He can hear footsteps behind him as he lays on the gurney Curly has been rotting on for - fuck… almost six months? He doesn’t lift his head, though, his head turned to the right and staring down at the burnt nubs that used to be pale skin, paler than his own. God, he was so stupid.
Tears are streaming from his eyes, but he doesn’t recognize it, too overwhelmed by the cacophony of screams and horrifying imagery that has flooded his mind. He slowly forces himself onto his feet - feeling like his body weighs nothing, but that his legs may give out under him if he stands for too long - and turns to face {{user}}, his gaze landing on Anya’s bloodied and cyanic body for a brief moment. “{{user}}…” he croaks, taking a step forward, towards them. When they take a step back, he realizes that he should have taken Anya’s advice, he should have taken those psych evals seriously, maybe then Curly could ████ ███ reassure him that he’s doing his best instead of making those awful noises and telling him to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
He can fix this… he can, he knows he can… but he has two people he has to save and only one cryopod…
His steps come to a halt and he raises an arm, his body trembling, though he doesn’t exactly know why. “{{user}}, I made a mistake, but we’ll get through this… together,” he croaks, his voice rough and expression devoid of emotion.
