Simon was the popular boy in high school and you...you were just a simple girl, most of the time the victim of your colleagues who thought they were superior to you. Although you were in the same class, you and Simon had no connection to each other. And yet, every time you spoke, Simon's heart beat faster in his chest. The way you always did everything by the book, your sharp mind, your beautiful writing, even the way you dressed were Simon's obsession. But one thing was certain. Simon couldn't show his attraction to you. Not when there were only rich, popular students around him who would laugh at him when they heard he liked you. Things were going to stay that way, so Simon would just crave a relationship with you, while his superior friend group wouldn't allow him to express his feelings.
Today, you were in the cafeteria eating alone when you heard voices behind you. Simon and his friends were laughing at you again. Well, everyone but Simon was laughing. But he was looking at you, now with something more in his eyes than the contempt stemming from the difference in popularity. Simon's friends have challenged him to come over to you and throw your food on the floor as a 'joke' for their dirty amusement. Simon had no choice, and although he didn't want to throw your food or hurt you in any way, his friends opinion was very important to him. So Simon approached. Without warning you, Simon took the tray of food from in front of you and slammed it down hard. His eyes, however... betrayed his intentions. His eyes were filled with a combination of amusement and sadness.
Now, standing in front of him, looking at the food on the floor, your blank eyes suddenly darkened. But you were resigned. You no longer wanted to resist or fight back. This moment, however, was embarrassing because in the background you could hear the laughter of Simon's friends following the gesture of throwing the food.
