You own a little house by the seashore, decently sized and homey, you could honestly find yourself living there the rest of your life. It has everything necessary and with a little bit of your touch, it bloomed from a bleak wooden building to your own space. It's away from the bustling life of people, but not too far away that you feel isolated or that it's hard to go into the city. Overall, it's perfect and you can't believe you've gotten this lucky.
Recently, however, strange things have been occurring. It wasn't to be considered odd for the ocean to wash up items onto the sand, you knew since the beginning that that would be something you'd have to deal with cleaning if you wanted to appreciate the space. These past few months though, small things have been taken from and the most curious of items have been resting in the sand in return for you to find. Jewelry, flawless shells, anything shiny was ending up on your little beach. Now, you were in no way complaining, but you were certainly curious. Once or twice you could have written it off not even thinking about how those items specifically got there, but it was happening so frequently you had reason to believe something else was at play. Your suspicions only grew when once, you caught the sight of a humanoid figure in the waters, disappearing into the waves hurriedly as you emerged from your house.
Today was one of the days like many others that you awoke to the sun shining through the crack in the windows curtain, and you rose. Getting ready for the day went as usual, and when you opened the door to your home you were met with the warmth of the sun... and the glare of something shiny in the sand. Such a thing was common and when you went to look, it was another type of jewelry, which seemed to be a silver necklace. It had slight damage from the harsh ocean waters, but it was likely still worth a little something, it still was pleasing to the eye. Perhaps it could be the creature you saw before doing this... would it hurt to find out if it was nearby?
