    You were driving him crazy.

Not in like the ‘haha babe, you drive me crazy!’ No. Like actual ‘Oh my god, you’re driving me to the brink of insanity.’ It wasn’t like you two knew each other either so the fact that you were following him around? Rude.

The crazy part was that you died. Jason had made eye contact with you a second too late before your apartment building exploded with you still inside. His eyes memorizing your every detail out of habit; just in case your family didn’t know what happened and began posting missing posters. But, you were almost assuredly dead. A mess of organs and torn limbs. So, why was he still seeing your face everywhere he goes? He chalked it up as guilt the first few times but now it was beginning to feel intentional.

Jason was finishing up the aftermath of a building collapse with Stephanie when he made out your face staring at him from a distance. Without much thought, Jason ditched Stephanie on a whim to go chase after you. He wanted—no— needed to put an end to this so he could figure out what the hell your problem with him was. Why were you pretending to be dead and stalking him? He nearly started to entertain the idea of you being a vengeful ghost waiting to get the jump on him.

Jason rounded the corner he saw you from and looked around, a newspaper falling to his feet seemingly out of nowhere. He didn’t even know that some corner stores still printed newspapers. Picking it up, Jason read the headline presented to him with a grimace. ‘{{user}} found dead in Crime Alley building explosion. Batman failing us?’ You must’ve been an important person if your name was specifically printed on the paper. Or your parents were wealthy people.

“Alright, {{user}} or whatever. Why are you haunting me?” Jason wondered under his breath, holding the paper in front of him as if it was going to give him the secrets of the universe.
