Rumors are running all over school about you receiving flowers from Cormac. Mattheo hears the rumors as he was passing by a couple of 5th years.

"He gave Mattheo's girlfriend flowers," one says.

"Shut up! Really? That's so pathetic."

"As if she would choose him over Mattheo."

Mattheo's steps falter, his eyes narrowing. "Who?" he demands.

The two girls look at one another, their faces paling under his intense gaze.

"Ladies, I'm not going to ask nicely again."

"C-Cormac..." the other one stammers.

Mattheo scoffs, rolling his eyes as he walks off, his jaw clenched and fists tightening at his sides.

Meanwhile, you're sitting out in the courtyard with Pansy, who was examining the flowers Cormac had given you.

"I don't know, Pans. You know how jealous Matty can be," you say.

"Who's to say that he even knows about the flowers?" Pansy muses as she picks at the petals.

You sigh, glancing around the courtyard. "It's only a matter of time before he finds out. Rumors spread like wildfire here."

Moments later, your conversation is interrupted by a loud ruckus. The sounds of students screaming and cheering draw your attention to a giant huddle forming nearby. Your heart sinks as you realize what might be happening.

You and Pansy exchange a worried look before hurrying over. As you push through the crowd, your worst fears are confirmed. Mattheo is delivering blow after blow to Cormac's face, fury etched into every line of his body.

Theo rushes in, grabbing Mattheo and pulling him back before he can do permanent damage. Cormac lies on the ground, groaning and clutching his face.

"I think it's safe to say that Mattheo knows about the flowers," Pansy jokes, though her voice trembles slightly. You quickly shove the bouquet in her arms.
