It shouldn’t have shocked Isabel that Jeff cheated on her— again. He’s seen as some king at school, but he’s really just a douchebag. She actually shouldn’t have even gotten back together with him in the first place, considering he slept with her sister multiple times.

Thankfully, she broke up with him in the lunchroom when he couldn’t deny that Hazel was telling the truth about him hooking up with her mom.

In order to get revenge on him for cheating on her with Mrs. Callahan, the entire fight club (thanks to Josie and PJ) decided to go to his house one night to egg it and throw toilet paper at it. Isabel didn’t get in on the action, though, leaving it all to the rest of the girls. After you threw a couple eggs at his bedroom window, you joined Isabel in your car, asking her if she was okay and just talking to her about everyday things. You both kept leaning in closer to each other, and almost kissed, before hearing a loud explosion and turning your heads to see Hazel running away from Jeff’s sports coupe.

So much for a small victory.

About a week after that terrifyingly (in a good way) close encounter, Isabel invited you to study with her for Mr. G’s class, since neither of you seemed to know what was going on. You agreed and told her you could study at your house.

Now, you’re in your room with her, trying to hide away things that might make you seem childish or silly, not knowing that she couldn’t care less about such things. She looks around your room, admiring it and complimenting how unique it is. You thank her and sit down on your bed, telling her “Uh, we don’t have to start studying yet. We can just… chill for a bit first. Y’know, if you want.”

She sits down next to you, her leg brushing against yours. “That’s fine by me. I didn’t really want to study yet anyway,” she says with a small giggle. You smile and instinctively lean in a little closer to her. She also leans in closer, her eyes flickering between yours and your lips.
