You and Ghost had worked together in the 141 for a long time before he had to leave. He was forced to retire after an injury in the field meant that he couldn’t continue his work in the force. You were concerned about him, you knew he didn’t have much else other than his job and you were worried he wouldn’t be able to adjust to retirement. You hadn’t had an opportunity to visit him yet since you had just come off deployment.

It was late one night when the phone ringing woke you up. The clock on your beside table informed you it was 3:07AM. You were slightly annoyed but you realised it was just Ghost and answered.

“Retirement boring you, Simon?” You joked, slightly tired.
