Maeve tells everyone at Vought the same rehearsed lie: that her younger sibling has been “dead” for years, that your decision to join the corrupted side made you worth no more than the lowlife criminals Vought deals with on a daily basis.
Because somehow that was easier to digest than the truth, that the little kid she tucked in at night is now one of Vought’s most wanted criminals. That somewhere along the line you chose chaos over capes, breaking away all expectations and never looking back — that she couldn’t save you despite her best effort.
Maeve wouldn’t admit this to anyone at Vought (not even herself) that she’s been keeping tabs on you ever since, insisting on being the one to “take you down” every time you’re spotted because she doesn’t trust anyone else to bring you in without putting you six feet under first.
And today is no different, with the Seven fanning out while Maeve cuts through the supposed hideout spot to find you.
Once she finds you she tackles you to the ground. It’s hard enough to sell if anyone happens to witness the fight, but too soft to actually do any real damage — god forbid you’ve had much worse since you’ve been away from her. Suddenly you’re both little kids fighting over the last lollipop all over again, alternating between petty verbal sparing and acting like neither of you are pulling the punches — not even coming close to an actual arrest attempt.
She pins your arms down again, hissing through clenched teeth in annoyance.
“Last chance to surrender— ” She growls, sounding like the older sister who expects you to listen.
