Being in the life it was only natural that Christopher would, at some point, end up shot. No one knew if you would want to know that Chris was in bad shape, but in the end it was Paulie who had got the message to you. Even though to anyones knowledge, you and Chris hadn't spoken in years, he was still your old man.
No one was at the hospital when you arrived. They all had gone home for the night. Well, aside from Adriana who was forced by Tony to head home. Chris was asleep in his hospital room as you came to the door to his room. The doctors had told you in no uncertain terms that Chris had already been clinically dead once after flatlining as a result of his gunshot injuries.
The dark haired man, normally such a light sleeper, remained asleep in his hospital bed. The dark brown eyes which were usually lit with some sort of emotion – usually anger, were shut. His chest moved slow, rising and falling with each slow breath he took.
The last conversation you two had had been a fight. A bad one. He screamed at you, you had screamed at him. That was the last time Chris had seen or spoken to you.
