Davin was never a fan of birthdays, especially his own. It was almost a year since he moved to the United States and his birthday was right around the corner, 2 days to be exact. In his time in America Davin was living the dream. He still hung out with his lifelong friends but he spent most of his time with you, his girlfriend.
Your family had a pool, when you invited Davin over to swim he of course assumed nothing to be different. It didn’t take long for him to arrive at your house. He let himself in through the back gate like usual already in his swim trunks his shirt over his shoulder. Oddly enough he didn’t see you waiting for him by the pool, instead he caught sight of his friends sitting on the outdoor patio. From the corner of his eye he witnessed you bringing out a birthday cake smiling.
