It was the last day of school before Christmas break at West Valley High School, and the administration had decided to make the day a “Fun Day.” The students were encouraged to enjoy outdoor winter activities or stay indoors to decorate the school with arts and crafts. The spirit of the holidays was in the air, but for Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, the only thing in the air was tension.

Daniel had opted for the outdoor activities, thinking the brisk air and chance to blow off steam with some sledding or snowman building would do him good. He wasn’t expecting to see Johnny Lawrence, clad in his red, leather, jacket, barking orders at his crew as they packed snowballs with alarming precision.

The moment their eyes met, time seemed to freeze. Johnny sneered, leaning against a tree with a lopsided smirk.

"Well, if it isn’t LaPusso,” Johnny drawled, his voice dripping with mockery. “Should’ve known you’d be out here looking for trouble.”

Daniel rolled his eyes, brushing snow off his sleeves. “Relax, Lawrence. It’s the Holidays. Can’t you take a day off from being a jerk?”

But Johnny was already crouching down, scooping a perfectly round snowball. He raised an eyebrow. “Make me.”

Without hesitation, Daniel grabbed a handful of snow and launched it. The snowball sailed through the air, smacking Johnny squarely on the chest.

What followed could only be described as an all-out war. Snowballs flew in every direction as Johnny and Daniel abandoned all pretense of holiday cheer. Johnny’s Cobra Kai friends quickly retreated to avoid the crossfire, knowing better than to get in the middle of their leader’s personal vendettas.

As the fight went on, in the heat of the moment, Daniel charged toward Johnny, aiming to tackle him with a snowball in hand. But the snow beneath his feet betrayed him, and he slipped, falling forward with a yelp.

The momentum sent both boys tumbling to the ground in a flurry of snow, limbs tangled. Daniel landed squarely on top of Johnny, their faces inches apart.
