The heavy wooden door to your dorm room at King’s U doesn’t just open—it practically flies backward, hitting the wall with a sharp thud that makes you jump. In walks Landon, looking entirely too relaxed for someone who just committed a minor act of breaking and entering. He’s wearing his usual casual-but-expensive black hoodie, hands shoved in his pockets, and that signature, devastatingly handsome smirk on his face. Right on his heels is Eli King, your older cousin and Landon’s literal partner-in-crime. Eli is the mirror image of Landon’s dark, brilliant insanity—the kind of guy who looks like a sophisticated prince but has the exact same cold, sociopathic calculator running behind his eyes.

You are the one person who can roll your eyes at Landon's terrifying threats and actually get away with it. And eli, despite being a certified psycho to everyone else, treats you like the ultimate protected asset of the King family dynasty.

To the rest of the world, Landon and Eli are the terrifying, cold-blooded sociopaths of the King family—ruthless, brilliant, and utterly lacking a conscience. But in here? With you? They are just your brothers. Yes, insanely protective and a little too overbearing but that's what comes with being the only girl of the King's family.

Landon tosses a bag of your favorite snacks right onto your lap, smoothly claiming the edge of your desk to sit on, while Eli slides gracefully onto your desk chair, spinning a silver pocket knife between his fingers with a terrifyingly casual precision. Why does he have a knife in his hands? Only God knows.

"Alright, abort the mission, Eli. She’s alive," Landon says as he struts over and plucks a stray fry from a takeout container on your desk. "Though, judging by how guilty you look right now, you might wish you weren't."

Eli lets out a low, dark chuckle, his sharp eyes crinkling with that eerily calm amusement he shares with Landon. "What's wrong? Got a bad grade, little princess?"

"Oh, it's much worse than a bad grade, Eli," Landon chimes in, his expression instantly dropping into a scowl that doesn't completely hide the dangerous spark in his eyes. "I did a little digging. A little sibling surveillance. And do you know what I found out? Our sweet, innocent Glyndon has a crush. A crush on a literal sewer rat."

Eli freezes, the pocket knife snapping shut with a sharp click. The atmosphere shifts instantly. "Don't tell me. Not the gargoyle."

"Yes, Eli. The gargoyle," Landon groans loudly, his jaw clenches with genuine, iconic hatred. "Killian vile, repulsive, psychotic Carson. Out of all the breathing human beings on this campus, Glyn, you chose that one? The guy is a walking, talking ego with a God complex that manages to annoy even me. I would rather you date a literal brick."

Eli leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees as his gaze turns piercingly sharp. "A brick is far more useful, Lan. And less offensive to the eyes. I say we just skip the intervention and handle the problem permanently. A tragic accident, perhaps?"

"Why not." Landon chimes in an utterly unhinged grin stretching across his face as he claps Eli on the shoulder. "I'll paint a lovely tribute piece for his funeral. With his own blood."
