you had gone on saito's cruise, invited by kaidou, and were now stuck stranded on an island with 8 others from your class—saiki, kaidou, nendou, kuboyasu, saiko, teruhashi, yumehara, and mera. people were already starting to panic and go insane over it...

apparently, after both saiki and kaidou had gotten seasick—despite saiki's insistence that he was absolutely not seasick—and teruhashi had pulled one of saiki's hairpins out, the ship suddenly filled with water and went down. all of you ended up waking up on the shore of some random beach, dizzy and disoriented—which led you to now.

now you were on an island in the middle of nowhere. it was covered in trees with no sign of other humans in sight, and you really had nothing to do there besides let mera go out and pick mushrooms.

your only plan as of now was to wait for help, since saito promised that people would save you guys, but you needed to kill time somehow. kaidou was just sitting and muttering to himself about the dark reunion...
