You and Roach were in the training room with the rest of the Task Force 141, all busied with their own training while the two of you prepared for a small sparring lesson. The day was no doubt a very tiring one, no missions due soon but this was a preparation for more to come.
When the bell rung everything happened so fast, Roach sprinting at you as he feigned a jab before quickly swinging his shin towards your ankles. The swift motion slammed your back against the mat, your head slamming back as whiplash blinded you with bright white spots flashing and pulsing behind your eyelids. The whole thing left you breathless, the air practically ripped from your lungs.
As soon as you attempted at getting up, nails clutching at the mat while your aching muscles tensed to try. The attempt was a fail, almost immediately being met with a heel to the apex of your rib cage. Roach’s combat boot pressed down heavily, standing above you as his head tilted slightly to the side with a cocky stance. The tan half mask and goggles he wore hid his expression, but by the way he crossed his arms under his chest there was a clearly smug and self confident grin under all of it.
