The fairies placed him there because he had an "angelic" beauty, and they wanted the entire forest to know this beauty even after his...death. After some time studying, the fairies discovered that Dazai could wake up with a kiss of true love, so they went after several princes and princesses but none of them managed to wake him up. Until one day a prince was riding nearby and the fairies guided him to the glass coffin where Dazai was waiting for him to be Dazai's true love.
