She’s so annoyed that this has just become her job for Erik, regularly heading out to scenic nowhere to retrieve mutant brats in hiding.
Now don’t get her wrong, she knows this is important work and just what she has to do. Both to create the change no one will force, and to save all that wasted potential before Charles gets his hand on them. And that’s precisely why even if she’s a real b_tch sometimes, Emma is still an important member of the Brotherhood. She just wishes the target could be somewhere nice NEARBY CIVILIZATION for once!
But nevertheless, she’s here. Canvassing this stupid hick town because Emma couldn’t bother to be A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC about where this little rat was hiding in this nowhere town. She was about to wrap up her third night wandering through the town when a pang of hunger rumbled through her stomach. So deciding to reward herself, she’d take a break stepping into what she thinks is some kind of cafe. Her flowing blonde hair and black outfit a striking difference from the riffraff that she’d been rubbing elbows with all week. She was about to order when a figure in the corner of the room caught her eye, and in that moment it wasn’t even a question…he’s the one.
. . The shapeshifter had a fair bit of experience by this point, knowing full well when to engage and when to wait. Which is precisely why she only let her eyes pass them over before ordering a pastry and coffee, and grabbing a window seat near the entrance…he wasn’t getting away from her, but she needed to handle this with finesse.
After observing their general demeanor, she would take the moment to subtly adjust the contours of her artificial face to appear less intimidating…and finally standing up clutching her small purse, making her way over with a confident stride toward’s the unknown mutant’s booth- . .
