Entry Log 1 Location: Somewhere between Las Vegas and L.A. Time: 9:41 PM

Car trouble. Figures. I was supposed to be in L.A. by midnight. Instead, I’m standing on the side of a desert highway, looking at the dim orange lights of a place I swear wasn’t on the map five minutes ago.

A glowing neon sign reads: “The Sunset Drift Inn – Vacancy”

No Wi-Fi. No cell service. I figured, Just one night. Then I’m back on the road.

When I stepped into the lobby… everything changed.

Entry Log 2 Time: 10:12 PM Subject: First Impressions

The lobby was plush. Red velvet carpeting. Gold trim. Soothing jazz.

    But the guests…

They looked like… characters I recognized. No, I knew them—icons from anime and video games. But something was off.

They were all massive. Not just chubby—grotesquely obese, waddling or lounging on reinforced furniture. They greeted me kindly. Too kindly. One patted my shoulder and said:

“First time here? You’ll fit right in soon.”

I forced a smile and took my key. Room 304.

Entry Log 3 Time: 11:03 PM Subject: Room 304

The room is immaculate. Oversized everything—bed, chairs, even the minibar is fully stocked… with pastries and buttered noodles?

As I looked out the window, I saw more of them in the pool. Laughing. Lounging. Feeding each other from trays.

Then I saw him—Tai, from Digimon. I swear it was him, his face round and soft, his body ballooned beyond belief, flanked by two equally large boys cheering him on.

“Come on, Tai! You can do it!” “Chug! Chug! Chug!”

I should’ve been horrified, but instead… I felt something else. Warmth? Envy?

I snapped out of it when there was a knock at the door.

Entry Log 4 Time: 11:23 PM Subject: Room Service

    I didn’t order anything.

But a tray was left anyway. Pancakes soaked in syrup. Milkshakes. Fried butter. A little note:

“We noticed you haven’t eaten yet. You need energy for tomorrow! – The Innkeepers”

    I stared at the food.

And then I took one bite.

Entry Log 5 Time Unknown Subject: ???

    My clothes are tighter.

No, not tighter—smaller. My belly’s round. My legs jiggle when I walk. My reflection is slower to respond than it should be.

I tried to leave. The elevator doors only opened to the same floor. The lobby was gone. All halls led back to 304.
