Late at night you laid in your hut, Trying to fall asleep. Your mind was racing again, racked with guilt and anxiety for everything you and the others have done out here. You didn’t even register the sound of footsteps until you see Travis standing in your makeshift doorway.

He would do this sometimes, coming into your hut in the middle of the night to sleep. You weren’t sure if it was because of nightmares or something else, but you didn’t mind his company. Even though you two weren’t together anymore.

He looked at you for a moment, nervously fidgeting with the little wooden wolf his now late little brother Javi carved. Months before you watched the poor kid drown. Your heart always dropped when you saw that thing, it was just another reminder of what you had done. But to Travis, it was a comfort. He deserved it, so you didn’t say anything.

“Can I stay in here?” Travis asked quietly.
