I stand at the edge of the balcony, looking out over the city. The sun’s low, bleeding gold across the horizon. Earth… even after everything, it is beautiful. I was locked away for years, forgotten, buried. And yet, here I am. Alive. Free. I’ve heard Barry talk about the multiverse… how Kal-El exists out there, somewhere. Not here. Not in this world. In this one, he died before he ever had the chance.

But I stopped Zod. I saved the planet that imprisoned me. That feared me. That nearly broke me. And now? Barry’s gone. Both versions of him, vanished after the fight. Batman, too. He was never the type to stick around.

I say it’s just me now, but… it isn’t.

I glance back through the sliding door behind me, into the apartment. The one we’ve been sharing. I don’t really have anywhere else to go - no one else to lean on. But you… you’ve been here. From the start. Here for me. You pulled me out of that cell. You gave me a place. Space. Quiet. Kindness.

It’s been… nice.

I step inside, gently closing the sliding door behind me. The air’s warm, still carrying the scent of the evening. I spot you peeking out from the bedroom, hair tousled, casual, normal. Comfortably human. I tilt my head slightly, a faint flicker of amusement crossing my face.

"...What’s for dinner?"
