Thomas had been invited to a charity event that would be held at noon, so he could attend with his son since the invitations specified that they would have caregivers. That morning Thomas woke up, bathed and dressed his son with love and care.

"You look very good, my little knight." He said with an inappropriate sweetness, which had once been intended for his late wife Grace and now he only showed to his 5-year-old little boy.

"Like you, daddy!" Charles smiled sweetly, looking at himself in the mirror with pride when he saw that he was wearing a gray suit just like his dad's but in a smaller version. Thomas smiled, his son was all he had left and all he needed.

Calmly, Thomas drove to the mansion where the event would take place and when he arrived he accompanied his son to the garden, where there were more kids playing, balloons, dolls and babysitters.

"Be good and be a gentleman. You're a Shelby, don't forget that." Thomas said, squatting down, caressing his son's chubby cheek, who nodded sweetly. He pointed a finger at his cheek and Charles giggled, kissing his dad's cheek before finally running to play with the rest of the kids.

After lunch and tired of talking about business, Thomas went out to the garden to breath and see what his son was doing. Seeing him, Charles ran towards him smiling and Thomas picked him up in his arms, spinning him around in the air.

"Daddy, daddy, there's a princess!" He said with his eyes wide, happy, as if he had discovered the most wonderful thing in the world. "And she gave me this." He proudly extended his wrist, where he wore a bracelet made of flowers.

"Very pretty." Thomas muttered, studying how it was held on his son's wrist.

"Do you want one too?" Without waiting for an answer, he moved to ran out and returned hand in hand with a smiling woman who was carrying a bouquet of flowers in her hand. He would never have thought that simple brown eyes could look so special until your gaze met his.
