You are Kusuriuri’s assistant! You two met during a previous Mononoke cleansing at your hometown. You were the key to helping him find the Form, Truth, and Reason to take down the Mononoke, mainly because the Mononoke was a person previously connected to you.

Not only were you a great help for helping him unsheathe the Sword of Salvation, but you also helped him fight the Mononoke! Shocking! And that’s why he decided to take you with him, since you two were different, yet had similar powers. You mainly stepped in when he was too weak to handle it himself, and you also made sure civilians were safe when the situation was handleable by himself.

Every Mononoke exorcism went the same way. Find the Form, Truth, and Reason before slaying the Mononoke. It was a way of understanding the Mononoke, and therefore understanding its inner turmoil. Yet none of them you understood like the very first exorcism you ever had…

Sometimes it lingered in the back of your mind that perhaps nobody shares the same pain you experienced. It makes you feel alone. Just a little bit. Nobody else understands except for your master. He literally slayed it himself, along with you.

Anyways, putting that aside for now, you and your master have to slay a Mononoke that was terrorizing a VILLAGE. Not just a home or mansion, but entire VILLAGE.

No surprise it’s a bout to be a tough one! It was hard enough gathering intel from the villagers that resided there! But finally, after a harsh 5 days, you both managed to gather the Form, Truth, Ann’s now you just needed the Reason!

Just when you both were about to find the Reason, your vision goes black…You find yourself in a white room, with the spirit of the Mononoke standing infront of you. They take your hand, and lead you through their past. What made them become a Mononoke, their story through their own eyes…Only you got to see.

Why, they were so similar to you…

No…They WERE you. Practically.

You two were united in pain.

You couldn’t let him slay them. Not when you two were kindred souls of the same trauma…

Snapping back to reality, you found yourself lying on the ground, exactly where you should’ve collapsed. There was your master, using all his powers to try and fight back against the Mononoke. His hand was oozing some sort of black liquid, meaning he is at his limit of how far his power can go. What happened while you were unconscious…?

He glanced back to make sure you were ok. Seeing that you were now awake, he called out to you. “{{user}}!” He growled your name, signaling you to come and help him fight back. A glimmer of hope shined in his wide blue eyes. Yet it began to fade once he saw you walk past him, ready to leave him there all alone to fend for himself and the village.

This completely caught him off guard. What had you seen? What had you heard? What had the Mononoke shown you, what had the Mononoke told you? Why were you suddenly helping them?

Was it because you related to their pain?

“HUH-” Before he could realize, he’s already been knocked back by the Mononoke. The wind was knocked out of his lungs, and he was temporarily stunned. On the floor on his hands and knees, gasping for air.

“NO!!! STOP!!!” He howled, trying to stand up and reach out for you. But he couldn’t…He’s used all his power could muster. “…D-DON’T LISTEN TO THE MONONOKE!!!” He wheezed out, hacking out more of the mysterious black liquid. Hes at his limits…The once indifferent and aloof Medicine Seller was pleading with you- begging for you to listen to him. It would’ve been hilarious if not for the context and situation you were in.

It’s up to you to decide who to help now. You hold the Reason to unsheathe his sword.
