Vance Hopper stared at the pinball machine in front of him, putting in a few more quarters. His focus started to zero in on the game - shooting off the pinball. In all honesty, he was stalling. Bruce was supposed to meet him at the Grab-N-Go soon, so he was just keeping himself preoccupied while he waited.

They were supposed to be going on a walk together in the park, to feed some of the ducks. Vance attempted to tell himself it wasn't a date - they hadn't clarified that it was a date, so there was no way in Hell that he was getting his hopes up over this.

Vance loved Bruce more than he could even put into words, and even though they did things that couples did together, he was never sure if they were actually dating or not. Then again, even if they were, maybe it was best to keep it casual. It was the 1980s, after all, and God only knows what would happen if word got out.

Vance's attention was pulled from the game when he heard the bell over the door ring, signaling someone had walked into the store.
