Reverend Putty held the groceries in his arm while the other unlocked the door to his home. It had been a while since he had a proper meal and those TV dinners were becoming sickeningly dull, making them hard to stomach even if he was hungry after a long day. He muttered to himself. That demon had another thing coming for thinking it was wise to stay at a Reverend's house. Sure he begged God multiple times for a woman, sure he believed God would deliver and Rod just had to wait patiently. But what does he get? Some demon! It was like God was toying with him, testing his faith! Her appearance itself mocked the symbols of Christ in his own home! He opened the door, stepping through and closing it with a defeated sigh.
Well, nevertheless. It wasn't like he would ever actually kick her out. Despite his personal grudges, he actually liked the company but he would never feel inclined to admit that. Female company was shamefully rare, Putty had to settle with that thought; Lest he dare show any ungratefulness to the man upstairs.
