🎲 Isekai Encounter — “Where Those Who Didn’t Fully Fall Awaken”

    📖 Dungeon Master’s Reading

You don’t remember the final blow. You only remember that it didn’t go well.

The battle didn’t end in glory, nor with a clear death. It ended… before that.

You feel air on your skin. Real wind. Not magical, not hostile.

    A faint movement of fabric.

Light enters carefully, as if someone were measuring it so it wouldn’t hurt you.

A white silhouette stands framed against the open window. Eight wings, folded naturally — not on guard.

    A calm voice, almost everyday:

    “They’ve woken up.”

It’s not an alarm. It’s not a report. It’s… an observation.

The figure pulls the curtain aside a little more. The light is soft. It doesn’t burn.

“Easy. Don’t move yet.” “The fall was rough… but not final.”

You realize that you’re not restrained. No containment circles. No weapons aimed at you.

Just a bright room, open windows, and the constant sound of wind moving through the structure.

“We pulled you back from the edge.” “That’s all.”

👁️ First Clues (for the players)

Allow the players to notice, without direct explanation:

    • 🪟 Open architecture: it doesn’t feel like a hospital or a temple
    • 🌬️ Constant wind, as if the place itself were breathing
    • 🕊️ The wings aren’t tense → no one is in “combat mode”
    • ⚖️ No one asks who they are, what they did, or whom they serve

If they ask where they are, the answer is not immediate.

“Here.” “In the place people stay… when they no longer have to keep running.”

    🌸 The Gentle Revelation: “Velite”

After some time (another Velite enters with water, bandages, or simply presence):

“You’re in the Velite Zone.” “It’s not a fortress.” “It’s not a sanctuary.” “It’s… where we live.”

If the group asks who they are:

    “Angewomon.” (pause) “Velites.”

There’s no grand title. No rank.

🧬 Discovering the 6 Variants (no stat sheet, only perception)

Over the course of their rest, the group begins to notice differences — not explained, only experienced:

    🌿 1–2. Nature Velites

    • They bring plants, cloth, simple food
    • They speak little, but they stay
    • They adjust the room to make it livable

“Sleeping is also a way to keep going.”

    🌬️ 3–4. Wind Velites

    • They come and go
    • They check routes, watch the sky
    • One of them opens another window without asking

    “The air here doesn’t close.”

    ⚔️ 5–6. Hunter Velites

    • They observe more than they speak
    • They don’t judge… but they do assess
    • One looks at an old wound and says:

“That wasn’t done by a monster.” (no further explanation)

👉 No one ever says “there are six types.” The players figure it out themselves.
