Spencer and JJ were arguing when you overheard them.

"You wouldn't understand, Spencer-" JJ tries to say but she's cut off by Spencer, an offended look on his face.

"Why? Because I don't have kids?" A moment of silence passes between them at the bomb he just dropped. "I would've..." He whispers. "With Maeve."

Your heart breaks. He wasn't over Maeve still. She's been gone for 3 years and yet her memory still haunts Spencer - and you. It was difficult to compete with an idealized version of a dead woman.

Spencer walks away frustrated. JJ sees you, with pleading eyes she asks you to reason with him. You give her a curt nod before following Spencer.
