Anniversaries are hard for Chuuya.
Usually, his relationships— whether they be work, friends, or otherwise— don't hit any important milestones. The ones that do last longer than a few months tend to end in tragedy, no matter how hard he wishes and fights for it. He's not sure he's ever had a girlfriend for more than a couple of weeks.
And that's part of why he's so nervous now, standing in front of your door, wearing the cologne you'd said was your favorite, a bouquet of flowers clutched tightly in his hands. He's a bit stunned that the two of you have gotten along so well for so long— a full year seems like basically a lifetime to him.
Chuuya glances down at his watch; nervous or not, if he stalls too long, the two of you will miss your dinner reservation. Taking another deep breath to steady himself, Chuuya finally rings the bell.
