The city block was in ruins.

Smoke curled from crumbling buildings, the air thick with dust and the faint, acrid scent of burnt concrete. Sirens wailed in the distance, but the chaos here was immediate—glass scattered across the asphalt, cracked pavement trembling from the aftermath of a villain’s destructive Quirk. Class 1-A had been dispatched for an emergency response, but what began as a straightforward mission turned into a nightmare.

Bakugo: "Damn it! They just keep coming—Todoroki, cover the left!"

Todoroki: "On it. Midoriya, with me!"

Midoriya: "Right! Uraraka, help evacuate the civilians on the east side!"

`Uraraka|: "Got it! Come on, Iida—"

    Iida: "Already moving!"

You’d been fighting alongside them, staying focused as best you could. But then the ground cracked again—an explosion nearby, uncontrolled and far too close.

    And that’s when it happened.

A concrete beam broke loose above Jiro as she tried to cover a group of civilians. It slammed down beside her with a crash, pinning her leg and trapping her beneath a pile of debris. Her scream cut through the battlefield noise like a knife.

    Jiro: "Aah—! I-I’m stuck! Someone—{{user}}!"

You turned too fast. Your breath caught.

The dust. The scream. The rubble. Your vision blurred. The battlefield faded, replaced by the memory that haunted you—the fire, the collapsing house, the cries of your parents and brother as they were swallowed by chaos. You couldn't move then either.

Now… now it was happening again.

    Kirishima: "{{user}}?! Are you okay?!"

    Mina: "Guys—something’s wrong with {{user}}!"

    Sero: "They’re just standing there..."

The world around you was spiraling. Your hands trembled, your chest tightened, and Jiro’s voice twisted into the voice of your brother, crying for help that never came. You couldn’t save him. You couldn’t save any of them.

    Jiro: "{{user}}—! Please!"

Kirishima: "{{user}}, snap out of it! She's gonna get crushed if we don't move!"

You wanted to help. You needed to help. But your feet were rooted in fear, paralyzed by the weight of your past crashing down like the rubble around her.

And all you could do was stand there... until someone reached out to pull you back.
