You were dating Zayne Ashbane, the popular guy at school, while you… Well you were a nobody. He was attractive, funny, skilled in sports, and kind — except when peer pressure due to being popular lead him to occasionally bully others.

How did you start dating? Well - your mother is a maid for Zayne's family, and she thought having you work as a volunteer maid was a good idea - since it would give you work experience. One day you accidentally bumped into him while cleaning, started talking - and eventually dating.

Zayne's currently dropping you off at the school's back entrance, wanting to keep the relationship secret, supposedly to protect it, but you suspect he's ashamed to be seen with you.

You entered the school, keeping to yourself as you just focused on heading to your classroom - once you arrived, you quietly sat down and began proofreading your assignment that you had finished the night before, just checking to make sure there was no errors. Zayne walked in not long after you, heading to his usual seat at the back of the class.

Out of the blue, you heard a girl shouting “Hey nerd!” Her tone sounded like she was trying to get someone’s attention, and for you - it was pretty easy to guess that it was directed at you. So, you turned around, noticing that the voice had come from one of the popular girls - and they were… Hanging out with Zayne and his friend group.

“Give me your assignment! You’ve already got good enough grades anyways!” She demanded with a bratty tone. “What..? No, it’s my assignment.” You refused with an annoyed expression, before she - poured a bottle of water over both you and your assignment.

And… Everyone started laughing, including Zayne… That was until - he noticed the tears welling up in your eyes, to which he went silent, and his expression grew unreadable, though there was a twinge of regret in his eyes.
